With a career full of achievements, Fleming became the first New Zealander to surpass the remarkable milestone of 7000 Test runs. Fleming’s journey to greatness began when he joined Middlesex in 2001. This experience proved to be transformative for him as he re-evaluated his batting approach, unveiling a newer, more consistent version of himself. Though Fleming retired from One-Day Internationals (ODIs) in 2006 and relinquished his role as Test captain in 2008, his impact on the game continued. He graced the inaugural year of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008 as a player for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), later transitioning into a highly successful coaching role with the franchise. During his tenure as coach, CSK clinched two IPL titles and were runners-up on two occasions.
