Born in Natore, a district in northwestern Bangladesh, Taijul developed a passion for cricket at a young age. In September 2014, Taijul made his Test debut against the West Indies in St Vincent. In just his third Test match, he achieved an outstanding feat by taking 8 for 39 against Zimbabwe in Mirpur. This remarkable performance not only helped Bangladesh secure victory but also earned him the title of the best figures by a Bangladesh bowler in Test matches. Continuing his incredible debut season, Taijul made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Zimbabwe at the same venue as his Test debut.
