Born on 20th April 1981, Taufeeq began his cricketing journey at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks to earn a reputation as a promising cricketer.
Taufeeq first burst onto the international scene in 1996 when he participated in the Lombard World Under-15 Challenge in England. During the tournament, he showcased his talent by making an impressive 87 runs against England in the semi-final match. His potential was further highlighted when he opened the innings alongside Hasan Raza during the final, even though Pakistan lost to India. Hasan went on to play Test cricket shortly after their partnership.
