Born on October 25, 1987, in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Umesh is a talented fast bowler who has made a significant mark in the world of cricket. Despite hailing from an unassuming background, he has risen through the ranks to become an integral part of the Indian national team.
Umesh’s journey to cricket stardom began under somewhat unusual circumstances. He first played with a leather ball less than two seasons before finding himself bowling against the likes of renowned Indian cricketers Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman in the prestigious Duleep Trophy. What makes his ascent even more remarkable is that he represents Vidarbha, a team from the Plate League of the Ranji Trophy, which is generally considered less glamorous in Indian cricket circles.
