Shreyas Santosh Iyer, also known as Shreyas Iyer, is an accomplished cricketer from India, known for his attacking style of play and powerful shots.
Born on December 6, 1994, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Iyer has made a significant impact on the cricketing world with his impressive skills and performances.

Iyer burst onto the scene when he was bought by the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) during the 2015 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction for a remarkable sum of Rs 2.6 crore.
He quickly justified the team's faith in him by making 439 runs in his debut season, which led to him being awarded the prestigious IPL Emerging Player of the Year award.
In the following six seasons, he not only became a vital player for the team but also took up the responsibility of leading the side, showcasing his leadership qualities.

Hailing from a cricketing family, Iyer honed his skills through the Under-19 ranks and left a mark in the 2014 World Cup with back-to-back fifties in the playoffs, which helped India secure a fifth-place finish.
He made his first-class debut for Mumbai in the subsequent domestic season, initially batting in the middle order.
However, it was when he was promoted to open the innings that he truly flourished, finishing as the team's top run-scorer with 809 runs at an average of over 50.
The following Ranji Trophy season saw a stellar performance from him as he accumulated an impressive 1321 runs at an average of 73, including a century in the final match, where Mumbai clinched their 41st title.

Despite calls for his fast-track inclusion into the Indian national side, it took some time before Iyer made his international debut.
He first made his mark in the white-ball formats, scoring his maiden international century in an ODI against New Zealand in Hamilton in 2020.
His Test debut came a little over a year and a half later, against the same opponent, where he notched up a century and a half-century.

One of Iyer's most memorable performances came in an ODI against South Africa in Ranchi in October 2022.
Chasing a target of 282 runs, he played a scintillating innings, remaining unbeaten on 113 runs, and guided India to victory with plenty of room to spare.

Throughout his career, Iyer has been known for his consistency and ability to play both classical shots and powerful strokes.
His stats speak volumes about his caliber and contribution to the game.
He has been a significant asset to the Delhi Capitals in the IPL and a promising talent for the Indian national team.

With a bright future ahead of him, Shreyas Iyer continues to epitomize the success and talent of Indian cricket.
As he strives to achieve new milestones, his fans eagerly await his next extraordinary innings and contributions to the sport.
