His first-class career was soon decorated with match-winning innings and crucial wickets, earning him a call-up to the national team in 2008. He made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka, a match that later became etched into the annals of cricket due to his magical three-wicket haul that stifled the opposition’s chase.
