Bancroft, a patient opening batsman with a solid technique, made his debut for Australia as a batsman/keeper in a T20I against India in Sydney in early 2016. However, it was in the Sheffield Shield during the 2014-15 season that Bancroft rose to prominence. He finished third on the run tally with an impressive 896 runs at an average of 47.15.
