Thanks to Muktar’s efforts, along with massive partnerships of 347 for the seventh wicket with Farhad Reza and 224 for the eighth wicket with Sunzamul Islam, Rajshahi managed to recover and declare the innings at 675 for 9.
However, despite these impressive performances, Muktar has struggled to consistently make an impact and gain the selectors’ attention. One of the main obstacles he has faced is his lack of notable performances with the ball. With Bangladesh increasingly favoring specialists for the shorter formats of the game, Muktar, once referred to as Bangladesh’s Ryan Harris by former coach Shane Jurgensen, still has a long way to go in establishing himself as a regular member of the national team.
