Rahul’s father, an army man, also played cricket for Uttar Pradesh in junior cricket and represented his university team. When his father was transferred to Pune, Rahul found himself at Deccan Gymkhana, one of the oldest and most prestigious clubs in the city. It was here that his cricketing journey truly began.

In 2012, Rahul marked his entry into domestic cricket by representing Maharashtra. Despite being a newcomer, he showcased immense potential by accumulating over 1000 runs at an average of 40 in his initial two seasons. His consistency and impressive performances garnered attention from selectors and fans alike, setting the stage for a promising career.
