Prasidh Krishna Shines in Best IPL Season Yet

Gujarat Titans’ Prasidh Krishna has emerged as a standout performer this IPL season, already matching his personal best of 19 wickets in just ten matches. Reflecting on his journey, Prasidh expressed satisfaction with his form, describing this as his best season to date.

In Friday’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he delivered figures of 2 for 19 in four overs, notably maintaining an impressive economy rate in a game where others struggled to keep theirs below 8.25. “I think my control over the length has been good,” Prasidh shared. “I’m enjoying the way the ball is coming out of the hand,” he added, underscoring the supportive environment at the Gujarat Titans camp. His consistent performance has seen him achieve a personal best economy rate of 7.48 this season.

Prasidh elaborated on his preparation strategy, emphasising the importance of getting back into practice and meticulously planning for opponents. “If you’re bowling second, make sure you watch every single ball of the 20 overs somebody else bowls,” he said, indicating the level of detail in his preparation.

Team captain Shubman Gill acknowledged the wealth of bowling resources at the Titans’ disposal. “It’s always nice to have many options when you are bowling, especially when you’re defending on these types of grounds,” Gill stated. The versatility was evident as they utilised seven bowlers in the match, even accommodating the debut of South African pacer Gerald Coetzee, who picked up a wicket but was slightly expensive in his spell.

The depth in their bowling line-up will give Titans confidence as they look ahead, balancing the needs of experienced players like Rashid Khan and Mohammad Siraj with emerging talents. As the league progresses, Prasidh Krishna’s form will undoubtedly be pivotal to Gujarat’s chances.
