Indian opener Smriti Mandhana has climbed back to the top of the ICC’s ODI rankings for women’s batting, achieving this position for the first time since 2019. Mandhana has accumulated 727 rating points, regaining her spot after a sterling performance, including a century off 92 balls in her last ODI innings in May.
South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt, who has dropped 17 rating points, has slipped to tied-second place alongside England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt, with both players now holding 717 points. Wolvaardt’s recent form includes an average of 28.20 across five ODI matches this year, with her highest score a modest 43. In the ongoing series against the West Indies, she registered 27 and 28 in her first two innings.
Rounding out the top five are England’s Amy Jones and Australia’s versatile Ellyse Perry. Within the top ten, Mandhana stands as the sole Indian representative, while her compatriots Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur occupy the 15th and 16th spots, respectively.
Moving to ODI bowling rankings, the top positions remain unchanged. England’s left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone continues to lead, well ahead of Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner and Megan Schutt. Notably, West Indies spinner Afy Fletcher has climbed four places to 19th following an impressive four-wicket haul against South Africa.
The rankings for allrounders also remain stable, with Australia’s Gardner at the helm, followed by West Indies’ Hayley Matthews and South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp. New Zealand’s Sophie Devine, who has announced her intention to step down from ODIs after the World Cup hosted in India this September, holds ninth place among allrounders and is 13th in the batters’ rankings.
