National Cricket Stadium

Initially named Queen’s Park, this ground has a seating capacity of approximately 20,000, comfortably hosting spectators both local and international. Over the years, the stadium has seen several upgrades, especially in preparation for the 2007 ICC World Cup, when extensive renovations were undertaken to modernise the facilities and expand the capacity to accommodate the influx of cricket fans.

This stadium primarily serves as the home ground for the Windward Islands cricket team, a staple in regional West Indies cricket. It's also a venue for the Grenada cricket team, providing a platform for local talent to shine. Every once in a while, the international cricketing spotlight shines brightly upon this venue when One Day Internationals and Test matches involve the West Indies team.

The stadium's significance was undoubtedly amplified during the 2007 ICC World Cup, which brought several Group Stage matches to its hallowed turf. These games drew fans from across the globe and left behind a legacy of memorable moments. One of the most talked-about performances on this ground was in 2015 when England's Joe Root, with a blend of finesse and aggression, lit up the scoreboard in a riveting Test match against the West Indies.

As for the pitch and conditions, the ground is known for its balanced surface, often offering a decent contest between bat and ball. Whereas batsmen can score heavily once settled, the bowlers, especially spinners, tend to find some assistance as the game progresses, thanks to the typically dry Caribbean weather.
