Bangladesh’s men are in for a busy 2026. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Thursday confirmed a home schedule that squeezes four Tests, 12 ODIs and nine T20Is into eight months, plus an ‘A’ tour from Sri Lanka.
First up, Pakistan arrive in March for three ODIs straight after the men’s T20 World Cup. “We wanted competitive 50-over cricket early in the cycle,” BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said, adding that the series should “set the tone for the year”.
New Zealand follow in April-May for three ODIs and three T20Is. Pakistan then pop back in May for two World Test Championship (WTC) fixtures, Bangladesh’s only home Tests before the monsoon.
June brings Australia – their first visit since 2027 – again for three ODIs and three T20Is. Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto called it “a proper marker of where we stand in white-ball cricket”. August and September see India for an identical white-ball block, before the season closes with two WTC Tests against West Indies in October-November.
Sri Lanka A will also play two four-day games and three one-dayers in May, giving fringe players a chance to press claims. Former selector Habibul Bashar welcomed the depth-building exercise but warned that “workload management will be critical; the calendar is tight and our fast bowlers especially will need careful handling”.
Twelve months out, venues and exact dates remain provisional, yet the outline already hints at a demanding, and potentially defining, year for Bangladesh cricket.
