The men’s cricket teams of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are set to engage in a comprehensive series featuring two Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs), and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) in June and July 2025. This tour marks the commencement of the 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship cycle for both nations. The Test series will unfold at Galle and the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Ground in Colombo. Meanwhile, Colombo’s Khettarama will host two of the ODIs, with the third scheduled for Pallekele. The T20 series will see matches in Pallekele, Dambulla, and a return to Khettarama.
These matches form part of the men’s Future Tours Programme, and all ODIs will take place as day-night encounters. This is Sri Lanka’s sole home series across all formats for 2025, as per the current calendar, with no further Tests slated until mid-2026, indicating a likely 12-month hiatus. Conversely, Bangladesh is set for only two Test series in the upcoming WTC cycle, the other scheduled against Ireland, which will not contribute to the WTC standings.
Significantly, the T20I matches carry added weight, given Sri Lanka’s role as co-host for the men’s T20 World Cup with India in early 2026. While the exact venues aren’t finalised, it’s anticipated that Khettarama, Pallekele, and possibly Dambulla will be in the spotlight.
The series begins with the first Test on 17 June, culminating with the final T20I on 16 July. Here’s a glance at the tour’s schedule:
