Tickets for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka go on public sale today at 18:45 IST and the same time in Sri Lanka (13:15 GMT). The tournament starts on 7 February and runs until the final on 8 March.
Prices in the opening sales window begin at INR 100 in India and LKR 1,000 in Sri Lanka – roughly USD 1.10 and USD 3.20 respectively. Further sales phases will follow; all purchases in phase one must be made via tickets.cricketworldcup.com.
“Phase I of ticket sales is an important milestone in our journey towards delivering the most accessible and global ICC event ever staged,” ICC chief executive Sanjog Gupta said. “Our vision for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is clear: every fan, regardless of background, geography or financial means, should have the chance to access an in-stadia experience of world-class marquee cricket.
“With tickets starting from just INR 100 and LKR 1000, we are putting affordability at the centre of our strategy. This is about opening the gates wide and inviting millions to be part of a global celebration of cricket, not as spectators from afar, but as active participants in the energy, emotion and magic that only a stadium can offer.”
Twenty teams will contest 55 matches, played in three daily slots: 11:00 (05:30 GMT), 15:00 (09:30 GMT) and 19:00 IST (13:30 GMT). The format mirrors the 2024 edition: five first-round groups of four, leading to a Super Eight stage and then knock-outs.
First-round groups
Group A: India, Pakistan, USA, Netherlands, Namibia
Group B: Sri Lanka, Australia, Ireland, Zimbabwe, Oman
Group C: England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Nepal, Italy
Group D: New Zealand, South Africa, Afghanistan, Canada, UAE
The top two teams in each group move into the Super Eight, already seeded below—though any qualifier replaces the team from its original pool that fails to advance.
Super Eight (provisional)
Group 1: X1 (India), X2 (Australia), X3 (West Indies), X4 (South Africa)
Group 2: Y1 (England), Y2 (New Zealand), Y3 (Pakistan), Y4 (Sri Lanka)
Each side plays the other three in its Super Eight pool; the leading pair from each pool reach the semi-finals. Should Pakistan qualify, the first semi-final (scheduled for 4 March) switches from Kolkata to Colombo. The second semi-final remains in Mumbai on 5 March. The final is pencilled in for Ahmedabad on 8 March, but also moves to Colombo if Pakistan make it that far.
