New Zealand A Women’s Team Set for White-Ball Tour of England

Hannah Rowe, Georgia Plimmer, and Izzy Gaze are among the prominent names in New Zealand A’s squad for their forthcoming white-ball tour of England. The squad of 15 includes 11 players who have represented New Zealand at the international level, forming a key part of the three ODIs and three T20Is scheduled in the tour, which marks the continuation of the reintroduced ‘A’ series for the women’s pathway.

The batting line-up features Plimmer, Jess Watkin, and Izzy Sharp alongside wicketkeeper-batters Gaze, Bella James, and Polly Inglis. Allrounders Emma McLeod and Flora Devonshire, as well as bowlers Rowe, Molly Penfold, and Bree Illing, round off the experienced contingent. Those yet to debut internationally include batting allrounder Anna Browning and medium pacers Amie Hucker, Emma Black, and Nensi Patel.

Rowe, with 107 international caps, is the squad’s veteran, while Plimmer and Gaze bring 67 and 55 international appearances respectively. Watkin and Penfold have also been part of the senior setup for some time. The remaining players made their New Zealand debuts between 2024 and 2025.

Liz Green, New Zealand Cricket’s head of women’s high performance, commented, “We’re really excited to be sending this group of talented players to England. They’ll get the chance to further their game by facing a strong opponent in different conditions whilst getting a taste for what international touring is like. Generating elevated playing opportunities is key for building experience and depth. It’s also an opportunity for us to assess high potential players at the next level and test their readiness for international cricket.”

The New Zealand A squad travelling to England consists of Emma Black, Anna Browning, Flora Devonshire, Izzy Gaze, Amie Hucker, Bree Illing, Polly Inglis, Bella James, Emma McLeod, Nensi Patel, Molly Penfold, Georgia Plimmer, Hannah Rowe, Izzy Sharp, and Jess Watkin.
