Players Vie for Top Spots in IPL 2025 Leaderboards

Cheteshwar Pujara and KL Rahul have an opportunity to climb close to the top three in the race for the Orange Cap, which is awarded to the highest run-scorer of the IPL season. Meanwhile, on the IPL 2025 Purple Cap table, Noor Ahmad has once again found himself tied for the top spot with Prasidh Krishna.

In Delhi, during the 62nd IPL 2025 match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), important questions were addressed by Sanjay Bangar. CSK have been on a losing streak, with the latest defeat against RR. However, there is some good news for them in the Purple Cap contest. Let’s take a look at the standings for the leading wicket-takers and run-scorers this season.

Purple Cap Standings
Prasidh Krishna from Gujarat Titans took a wicket on Sunday, and CSK’s Noor Ahmad picked up one wicket, even though he conceded 42 runs in three overs against RR. Consequently, both bowlers have surged to the top of the wicket-takers’ list. However, Noor remains behind Prasidh due to higher average and economy rates. Prasidh holds an average of 17.57 and an economy of 7.85, whereas Noor’s average is 18.42 with an economy of 8.41.

Josh Hazlewood of RCB has not played since 27th April due to a shoulder injury, yet he remains in third place with 18 wickets. Should Trent Boult feature in today’s game between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC), he has the chance to surpass Hazlewood in the rankings.
