Former opener Aakash Chopra, dialling in from Delhi, put it simply: “Kohli and Rohit keep adding confidence.” He believes their form, two years out from the 2027 World Cup, offers “a reassuring template for the younger lads”.
Attention then turned to emerging all-rounders Harshit Rana and Washington Sundar. Their late-order hitting, paired with tidy overs at the death, impressed Krishnaswamy, who noted that Rana’s heavy-ball variations “should translate on slower Indian pitches”.
While applauding India’s composure, the panel also acknowledged Australia’s depleted attack and sporadic fielding lapses. More measured reflections are promised on next week’s episode.
