The Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) will be hosted in Guyana for its fourth season, running from 6th to 17th September. Providence Stadium will serve as the venue for all seven matches, including the final.
Teams participating this year remain unchanged from previous seasons: Guyana Amazon Warriors, Trinbago Knight Riders, and Barbados Royals. Each team will play twice against the others, totalling four league games each.
Across 11 days, fans can expect exciting afternoon matches. Four of these, including the final, are scheduled for a 2pm start, with two beginning at 3pm and one at 4pm. The final match is set just a day after the league stage concludes.
The league first took place in Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis, in 2022. For the following two years, it moved to the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad & Tobago. The Barbados Royals have shown remarkable consistency, securing the championship in 2023 and 2024, after a runner-up finish in 2022. In contrast, the Knight Riders clinched the title in 2022 but were runners-up in 2024. The Amazon Warriors have yet to win, placing third in 2022 and 2024, and finishing second in 2023.
Among individual achievements, Hayley Matthews of the Royals stands out, leading both in runs scored (424) and wickets taken (23) in the tournament’s history.
